On 17th August, 2019, an Inter School AHISCS Girls’ Chess Tournament was held in Islampur and hosted by The Scholar English School. The participating schools were Fr. Leblond School, St. Paul’s School, Jalpaiguri, The Scholar, Nirmala Convent and Sacred Heart School. Mr.B.K.Barik and the Chess Coach trained them mentally for the tournament.
The players were, Zaara Chelsea Mahmud, Krishna Khetan and Keira Chhetri for U-19 category and Riya Kumari Gupta, Devyaani and Shreya Bhagat for U-17 category and lastly Mayuri Churiwal and Muskan Gupta for U-14 category.
On the day of the tournament Mr. Bobin Rai and Miss Binita Minj escorted the girls . Sacred Heart bagged three trophies. Krishna Khetan stood proudly as the Champion in U-19 category and Keira Chhetri as the 1st runners up .Mayuri Churiwal won the 3rd place in the U-14 category.
Overall Sacred Heart School hailed as the 1st runners up. Yet again proving that yes, it is one of the best schools.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations is a privately held national-level board of school education in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and the Indian School Certificate Examination for Class X and Class XII respectively.
