From 10th to 14th May 2026, Sacred Heart School proudly hosted its first Inter School Cricket Tournament, bringing together young cricketers from different schools for four days filled with competition, teamwork, determination, and unforgettable moments on the field.
Organising a cricket tournament in the month of May was not without challenges. Between changing weather conditions, packed academic schedules, and ongoing sports commitments, the idea initially seemed difficult to execute. However, through the collective effort of the entire school community, the tournament was successfully conducted and became a memorable milestone in the school’s sporting journey.
The Sports Department played a significant role in making the tournament possible. Coaches and staff members worked tirelessly to prepare the pitch, organise fixtures, and ensure the smooth conduct of every match. Several departments of the school, including the technical team, media team, administrative staff, catering team, and support staff, contributed immensely behind the scenes throughout the event.
More than a competition, the tournament reflected the school’s commitment towards encouraging discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong sporting culture among students. It also provided young cricketers with the opportunity to experience structured and competitive cricket in a professional environment.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from Don Bosco School, Delhi Public School, Mahbert High School, Doon Heritage School, Birla Divya Jyoti, Olivia Enlightened English School, Tarachand Dhanuka Academy, and host school Sacred Heart School.
The opening day began with an impressive performance from Sacred Heart School against Olivia Enlightened English School. Sacred Heart posted 194/3 in 15 overs, securing victory by 141 runs. Prem Kr Roy delivered a spectacular unbeaten 104 off 30 balls, while Anurag Gupta remained unbeaten on 85 off 30 deliveries and also claimed three wickets in a brilliant all-round performance. In another thrilling encounter, Tarachand Dhanuka Academy defeated Birla Divya Jyoti by one wicket in a closely fought match.
Day two of the tournament continued with exciting fixtures and commendable performances from all participating teams. Doon Heritage School secured a dominant 10-wicket victory against Mahbert High School through an excellent all-round display. In another high-scoring contest, Delhi Public School posted a massive total of 217 runs against Don Bosco School and went on to secure a convincing victory.
The semi-finals brought intensity and competitive spirit as teams battled for a place in the finals. Sacred Heart School faced Doon Heritage School and secured a convincing victory after posting an impressive total of 209 runs. The second semi-final between Tarachand Dhanuka Academy and Delhi Public School proved to be a closely contested encounter, with Tarachand Dhanuka Academy successfully defending their score to advance to the finals.
The tournament concluded with an electrifying final between Sacred Heart School and Tarachand Dhanuka Academy. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Sacred Heart School delivered a strong batting performance and posted 174/5 in 15 overs. Tarachand Dhanuka Academy responded with determination and resilience, keeping the match competitive till the very end. However, Sacred Heart School successfully defended their total as TDA finished at 140/9 in 15 overs.
With this victory, Sacred Heart School emerged as champions of the Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026. More importantly, the tournament concluded with unforgettable memories, remarkable performances, and a spirit of sportsmanship that defined all four days of competition.
The Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026 was not only a celebration of cricket, but also the beginning of a sporting tradition that Sacred Heart School hopes to continue for many years to come.
