2. Is Sacred Heart School fully residential?
Sacred Heart School is one of the top residential schools in East India. Over 80% of our students and staff reside on campus . We have separate girls’ and boys’ hostels.
However, we also provide day boarding facilities for students who live locally. Food, games and extra study facilities are available for them as well.
3. What are the hostel facilities like?
Our spacious, air-conditioned dormitories accommodate 40-45 students each. The dormitories are equipped with shower and toilet cubicles, ensuring ample comfort and hygiene for all students.
4. What extracurricular activities does the school offer?
We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including:
Sports: Swimming, basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, rugby (first of its kind in the region), table tennis, badminton, chess, and kickboxing.
Arts: Painting, art & craft, music (guitar, drums, synthesizer), singing, and dancing.
Skills: Cooking, stitching, robotics, and AI.
Participation in sports or activities is mandatory unless medically unfit.
5. What food and snacks are allowed?
The school kitchen provides a variety of fresh vegetarian and non -vegetarian nutritious meals, including fruits and vegetables.
Only health drinks like Horlicks , Bournvita and the like , are permitted from home .
6. How are phone calls facilitated?
Phone calls are arranged every alternate week through the school’s phones. Students in Grades XI and XII are allowed to use their smartphones once a week.
7. Are parents allowed to visit or take students for outings?
Parents can visit or take students for outings once every term or in cases of special need, as per the school’s guidelines.
8. How is academic support provided for students who need extra help?
Students who are underperforming receive extra academic support through remedial classes. Self-study sessions are supervised to ensure doubts are addressed in real time.
9. How is care provided for younger children?
Children under 10 years old in the primary wing are assisted by dedicated helpers and ayas from the pastoral care department to manage daily hygiene and meals.
10. What is the holiday schedule?
The school observes holidays during summer, Puja, Christmas, and inter-session breaks. The school calendar, including updated dates, is shared regularly.
11. How often are laundry services provided?
Regular Laundry: Professional laundry services are provided three times a week.
Innerwear & Essentials: These are laundered daily by the school staff.
12. How are meals supervised?
The pastoral team and teachers on duty supervise all meals. Younger children are assisted during meals and gradually taught to eat independently.
13. Are there separate game slots for boys and girls?
Yes, separate time slots are allocated for boys and girls to enjoy sports such as swimming, basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, chess, table tennis, badminton, and kickboxing. Participation is compulsory unless medically exempted.
14. What happens if a child falls sick?
Sick students are cared for in the infirmary under the supervision of a qualified nurse. Separate facilities are available for boys and girls. A special care diet is provided if necessary, and parents are informed promptly.
15. How many students are there in a class?
We maintain an optimal teacher-student ratio of 1:20 to 1:25 to ensure personalized attention and effective learning.

17. I live in Siliguri only. Can I still admit my child? Or is it only for boarders who stay in hostels?
