With 27 years of teaching experience, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Das has been a cornerstone of Sacred Heart School since 2000. He served as the Head of the Commerce Department until 2022 and has been the Senior Coordinator since 2013. Under his teaching, students have often secured perfect 100/100 scores in Commerce and Economics in their board exams. Mr. Das is also trained in Basic Counseling Skills, which enhances his ability to support students' emotional and academic needs.
Mr. Das is committed to developing passionate learners and providing holistic education that instills true values in every student. He believes in the importance of open communication and close collaboration with administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Mr. Niloy Hait brings 18 years of rich experience in the education sector to our community. Mr. Dharmendra Poddar
Hindi Teacher
Mr. Dharmendra Poddar has been a dedicated Hindi teacher in the Department of Languages at Sacred Heart School for the past 20 years. He has also served as the Head of the Languages Department and manages the school’s Transport Department for the Day Scholars. In addition to his teaching and administrative roles, Mr. Poddar is an active member of the International Hindi Service Foundation, National Artistes Association, and Delhi Adhyapak Parishad. He is also involved with the Hindustani Bhasha Academy in New Delhi. In his free time, Mr. Poddar indulges in poetry and writing.
Mr. Gautam Mukherjee
Head of Department, Social Science
With 35 years of teaching experience, Mr. Gautam Mukherjee leads the Social Science Department at Sacred Heart School. He teaches History and Political Science to classes 11 and 12, with consistently excellent ISC board exam results. He also serves as the Day Boarder and Staffroom In-charge, having introduced many improvements to the staffroom. Mr. Arpan Rai
Senior English teacher, Head of English Department
He holds an MA in English and B.Ed, has been a member of Sacred Heart School, Siliguri since March 2013. Throughout the past decade, he has had the privilege of engaging in various initiatives within the school, serving as a teacher, editor, moderator and emcee. He has had over 13 years of teaching experience. The dynamic nature of his teaching allows him to maintain a sense of curiosity suitable to that of a child, continuously learning and growing alongside the students who inspire us each day.
Mr. Nigam Pradhan
Head of Commerce Department & House Master of Tagore House
Mr. Nigam Pradhan is a dedicated educator with a strong passion for both sports and geopolitics. He currently serves as the Head of the Commerce Department and teaches Economics at Sacred Heart School. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is the House Master of Tagore House and has extensive experience as an ISC Supervising Examiner and an ISC Economics Examiner.
Mr. Pradhan has also engaged in research, notably contributing to the project "Revisiting the Valuation of Soil Conservation Benefit of Watersheds in Darjeeling, India," reflecting his interest in applying economic principles to environmental issues.

Mrs. Ruby Pradhan is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching English literature and language. She has held leadership roles at renowned institutions such as The Assam Valley School, Ashok Hall, and Confluence World School, affiliated with Sri Ram School, Delhi.
At The Assam Valley School, she improved ICSE performance as an English teacher. She later became Head of English at Ashok Hall Girls’ Residential School, and at Confluence World School, she enhanced academic standards as Head of Department and Senior Coordinator.
At Sacred Heart, Mrs. Pradhan has demonstrated outstanding organizational and team management skills, creating an inclusive learning environment. Her commitment to mentoring students has earned her widespread respect in the academic community.

Mr. Mithun Chakraborty holds an M.Com in Accounting & Finance from the University of Calcutta and a B.Com (Hons) from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration. He also has a B.Ed. and has completed Chartered Accountancy Inter (both groups) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Currently, he serves as a Commerce Teacher at Sacred Heart School, teaching Accounts, Business Studies, and Commercial Studies. He is also the House Master of Gandhi House and the Class Teacher for Class XI Commerce.
With 12 years of experience as Assistant Teacher and Head of the Commerce Department at South End Centre (EM) School, Howrah, Mr. Chakraborty has been an ISC Board Examiner and Team Leader since 2012. His students have achieved notable success, including perfect scores in Commercial Studies in the 2023 ICSE Examination and the highest class average in ISC Business Studies in 2024.

Mr. Subham Rampuria
Visiting Faculty
Mr. Subham Rampuria is a Visiting Faculty member at Sacred Heart School, Matigara, where he teaches physics to Classes X and XII and chemistry to Class X students. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, graduating in 2020 with a CGPA of 8.63. In addition to his role at Sacred Heart, he taught at G D Goenka Public School and runs Subham Rampuria's Institute (SRI), where he has tutored over 1,500 students since starting his teaching career at 15. Passionate about inspiring a love for mathematics and science, he has been featured in the Telegraph for his contributions to education and has mentored over 300 students in Chemistry at Auxilium Convent School, with many achieving top scores in board examinations.
