Mr. Rakesh Kumar Das

Senior Coordinator

With 27 years of teaching experience, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Das has been a cornerstone of Sacred Heart School since 2000. He served as the Head of the Commerce Department until 2022 and has been the Senior Coordinator since 2013. Under his teaching, students have often secured perfect 100/100 scores in Commerce and Economics in their board exams. Mr. Das is also trained in Basic Counseling Skills, which enhances his ability to support students' emotional and academic needs.

Mr. Das is committed to developing passionate learners and providing holistic education that instills true values in every student. He believes in the importance of open communication and close collaboration with administrators, teachers, parents, and students. His leadership ensures that the school remains a conducive environment for learning, where the vision of the school is upheld with dignity and integrity.

Mr. Niloy Hait

Senior School Coordinator

Mr. Niloy Hait brings 18 years of rich experience in the education sector to our community. With a deep commitment to fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment, Mr. Hait has excelled in various capacities throughout his career. His contributions include achieving excellent board results in Social Sciences, implementing innovative learning strategies, and mentoring students in interschool debates.

Driven by a passion for enhancing student outcomes, Mr. Hait believes in the power of collaboration and mutual respect within a school. Mr. Dharmendra Poddar

Hindi Teacher

Mr. Dharmendra Poddar has been a dedicated Hindi teacher in the Department of Languages at Sacred Heart School for the past 20 years. He has also served as the Head of the Languages Department and manages the school’s Transport Department for the Day Scholars. In addition to his teaching and administrative roles, Mr. Poddar is an active member of the International Hindi Service Foundation, National Artistes Association, and Delhi Adhyapak Parishad. He is also involved with the Hindustani Bhasha Academy in New Delhi. In his free time, Mr. Poddar indulges in poetry and writing.

Mr. Gautam Mukherjee

Head of Department, Social Science

With 35 years of teaching experience, Mr. Gautam Mukherjee leads the Social Science Department at Sacred Heart School. He teaches History and Political Science to classes 11 and 12, with consistently excellent ISC board exam results. He also serves as the Day Boarder and Staffroom In-charge, having introduced many improvements to the staffroom. Mr. Mukherjee's students have regularly topped board exams, and he has been a Board examiner for 4 years. Outside of school, he is an active member of Netaji Athletic Club, Siliguri

Mr. Arpan Rai

Senior English teacher, Head of English Department

He holds an MA in English and B.Ed, has been a member of Sacred Heart School, Siliguri since March 2013. Throughout the past decade, he has had the privilege of engaging in various initiatives within the school, serving as a teacher, editor, moderator and emcee. He has had over 13 years of teaching experience. The dynamic nature of his teaching allows him to maintain a sense of curiosity suitable to that of a child, continuously learning and growing alongside the students who inspire us each day.

Mr. Nigam Pradhan

Head of Commerce Department & House Master of Tagore House

Mr. Nigam Pradhan is a dedicated educator with a strong passion for both sports and geopolitics. He currently serves as the Head of the Commerce Department and teaches Economics at Sacred Heart School. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is the House Master of Tagore House and has extensive experience as an ISC Supervising Examiner and an ISC Economics Examiner.

Mr. Pradhan has also engaged in research, notably contributing to the project "Revisiting the Valuation of Soil Conservation Benefit of Watersheds in Darjeeling, India," reflecting his interest in applying economic principles to environmental issues.

Mrs. Ruby Pradhan

Girls Wing Coordinator

Mrs. Ruby Pradhan is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching English literature and language. She has held leadership roles at renowned institutions such as The Assam Valley School, Ashok Hall, and Confluence World School, affiliated with Sri Ram School, Delhi.

At The Assam Valley School, she improved ICSE performance as an English teacher. She later became Head of English at Ashok Hall Girls’ Residential School, and at Confluence World School, she enhanced academic standards as Head of Department and Senior Coordinator.

At Sacred Heart, Mrs. Pradhan has demonstrated outstanding organizational and team management skills, creating an inclusive learning environment. Her commitment to mentoring students has earned her widespread respect in the academic community.

Additionally, she has served as an ICSE examiner for over two decades, further highlighting her dedication to education. Her impact on both institutions and students has been profound throughout her distinguished career.

Ms. Indrani Goswami

Geography Teacher

Ms. Indrani Goswami is a dedicated Geography teacher at Sacred Heart School, Siliguri, teaching students from Grades 8 to 12. She holds a BA, MSc in Geography, and a B.Ed., bringing a strong academic foundation to her teaching. Ms. Sarika Basu

Biology Teacher

Ms. Sarika Basu is a dedicated Biology teacher at Sacred Heart School with a Master’s in Zoology and 18 years of experience. She has served as Head of the Science Department and has experience in correcting ICSE papers. Ms. Malini Banerjee

English Teacher

Ms. Malini Banerjee is a seasoned educator with 28 years of experience teaching English to classes 8-12. She holds an MA and a B.Ed., and has served as an ISC Examiner for 3 years, enhancing her expertise in curriculum assessment and instruction. She is often seen emceeing the school events like debates and quizes and is a happy, cheerful and wonderful part of the SHS family.

Mr. Tara Niroula

Coordinator, Second Language Department and Nepali Teacher

Mr. Tara Niroula serves as the Coordinator of the Second Language Department and teaches Nepali Language. He is dedicated to enhancing students' linguistic skills and cultural awareness through innovative teaching methods. His goal is to create a dynamic and inclusive environment where students excel in their second language studies. Outside of work, Mr. Niroula is an avid sports and adventure enthusiast, enjoying activities such as football, cricket, bike riding, hiking, and mountain climbing. Mr. Arvind Kumar Jha

Computer Teacher

Mr. Arvind Kumar Jha is a Senior Computer Faculty at Sacred Heart School with 25 years of teaching experience in grades IX to XII. He holds an MCA with the highest grade of 84.8%, a Science degree with PCM, and an Honours Diploma in System Management from NIIT. Mr. Jha is dedicated to making computer studies accessible and engaging for his students, who frequently excel in their board exams under his guidance.

Mr. Subham Chettri

Teacher, Mathematics

Mr. Subham Chettri has been an Assistant Teacher at Sacred Heart School, Siliguri, since November 2021, teaching Mathematics to middle and senior school (ICSE) students. With 7 years of teaching experience, including work in religious institutions, Mr. Chettri is dedicated to creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for his students.

Mr. Mithun Chakraborty

Commerce Teacher

Mr. Mithun Chakraborty holds an M.Com in Accounting & Finance from the University of Calcutta and a B.Com (Hons) from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration. He also has a B.Ed. and has completed Chartered Accountancy Inter (both groups) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Currently, he serves as a Commerce Teacher at Sacred Heart School, teaching Accounts, Business Studies, and Commercial Studies. He is also the House Master of Gandhi House and the Class Teacher for Class XI Commerce.

With 12 years of experience as Assistant Teacher and Head of the Commerce Department at South End Centre (EM) School, Howrah, Mr. Chakraborty has been an ISC Board Examiner and Team Leader since 2012. His students have achieved notable success, including perfect scores in Commercial Studies in the 2023 ICSE Examination and the highest class average in ISC Business Studies in 2024.

Mr. Ratan Kumar Datta

PGT Physics

Mr. Ratan Kumar Datta is a PGT Physics teacher at Sacred Heart School. With over 20 years of experience in the field, he has previously served as a Senior NEET Faculty at Aakash Institute in Kolkata, and as a NEET Faculty at Salvi in Maharashtra and Disha Nucleus in Bhagalpur. He has also taught Physics in various CBSE-affiliated schools and worked with renowned coaching institutions. Mr. Datta is Sahodaya and Diksha certified (NCERT), reflecting his commitment to educational excellence.

Mr. Swagata Joardar

Mr. Balaram Sharma

Mr. Balaram Sharma, fondly known as the "Math Magician," is passionate about making mathematics engaging and boosting students' confidence and skills. With a B.Sc. (Hons) in Maths, an M.Sc. in Mathematics, and a B.Ed., Mr. Sharma has 15 years of experience teaching CBSE and ICSE curricula at the secondary and senior secondary levels. His career highlights also include earning certifications in technology-enabled teaching from Pearson/Digi Class, and receiving a certificate for his role in the International Mathematics Olympiad. He also teaches through innovative methods like Vedic mathematics and activity-based learning. Mr. Sharma's current responsibilities include leading curriculum development, mentoring teachers, managing resources, and supporting students. He is committed to professional development, effective budgeting, and fostering collaboration among educators to promote excellence in the mathematics department.

Mr. Partha Sarathi Chakraborty

Teacher, Commerce Department

Mr. Partha Sarathi Chakraborty is an experienced educator in the Commerce Department at Sacred Heart School, specializing in Commercial Studies, Economic Applications, and Accounts for classes 9 to 12. He holds an M.Com and a B.Ed and is a member of the All India ISC Accounts, Commerce, and Economics Team.

With 24 years of teaching experience at the ICSE and ISC levels, Mr. Chakraborty has also served as an external examiner for Accounts and Commerce for 12 years and as an examiner in Accounts for 8 years. Additionally, he has been the Head Supervisor for ISC Examinations for 4 years, showcasing his extensive involvement in academic assessment and examination.

Mr. Tekendra Chhetri

Mr. Tekendra Chhetri, from Kalimpong, holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Ed. from Tezpur Central University, Assam. With 6 years of experience teaching mathematics, he currently instructs middle and senior school students at Sacred Heart School. Mr. Chhetri enjoys reading books, listening to music, playing games, and watching movies in his free time. Ms. Jyoti Gupta, from Siliguri, holds a B.Ed. in Hindi Honours from Chapra University, Bihar, and has 12 years of teaching experience. She currently teaches Hindi to Classes 6 through 10 at Sacred Heart School. In her free time, she enjoys painting, crafting, and reading books.

Mr. Subham Rampuria

Visiting Faculty

Mr. Subham Rampuria is a Visiting Faculty member at Sacred Heart School, Matigara, where he teaches physics to Classes X and XII and chemistry to Class X students. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, graduating in 2020 with a CGPA of 8.63. In addition to his role at Sacred Heart, he taught at G D Goenka Public School and runs Subham Rampuria's Institute (SRI), where he has tutored over 1,500 students since starting his teaching career at 15. Passionate about inspiring a love for mathematics and science, he has been featured in the Telegraph for his contributions to education and has mentored over 300 students in Chemistry at Auxilium Convent School, with many achieving top scores in board examinations.
