Sacred Heart School

Sacred Heart School proudly congratulates its Director & President, Mr. Anil Gupta, on being conferred with the prestigious Francis Fanthome Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his remarkable contribution and dedicated service to the field of education.

Named after the late Francis Fanthome, former Chief Executive and Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the award honours visionary educators and leaders who have created a lasting impact through their commitment, leadership, and efforts towards shaping the future of education.

This recognition marks yet another milestone in the inspiring journey of Sacred Heart School, Siliguri, an institution that has grown tremendously under the guidance and vision of Mr. Anil Gupta and Mrs. Priyakee Gupta. What began in 1997 as a modest school operating from a rented house in Kurseong has today evolved into one of the most respected educational institutions in the region. It is often said that in its early years, the school had “more dreams than desks” — a reflection of the determination, passion, and belief that laid the foundation of the institution.

Today, Sacred Heart School stands as a thriving educational community with over 500 students and 150 staff members, supported by a modern and progressive campus designed to nurture holistic growth and meaningful learning experiences.

An advocate of educational excellence and institutional development, Mr. Anil Gupta has also served with distinction across several prestigious educational associations and bodies. Over the years, he has held important positions in organisations such as AHLIS and ASISC, and also served as the Founding Secretary of AHISCS North Bengal Region. His contribution towards strengthening educational collaboration and promoting quality learning initiatives has earned him immense respect within the academic fraternity.

The award was presented during a distinguished educational gathering attended by eminent personalities from the academic, legal, and professional sectors. The event was graced by Raju Basnet, Hon’ble Education Minister of Sikkim, who attended as the Guest of Honour.

The occasion was also attended by Sailesh Pandey, Secretary of ASISC for West Bengal, Sikkim, and the North Eastern States. Among the keynote speakers and dignitaries present were Hon’ble Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai of the High Court of Sikkim, Dr. Jagannath Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of ICAI Sikkim, Prof. Ujjwal K. Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of Techno India University, along with several distinguished guests from the educational and professional community.

The Francis Fanthome Lifetime Achievement Award reflects Mr. Anil Gupta’s unwavering dedication towards holistic education, student development, and creating opportunities that empower young minds to grow with confidence, character, and purpose. Under his leadership, Sacred Heart School continues to embrace progressive educational practices, technology-enabled learning, co-curricular excellence, and a student-centric approach that prepares learners for an evolving global future.

The entire Sacred Heart School family celebrates this remarkable achievement with immense pride and extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Anil Gupta on this prestigious honour.
