Sacred Heart School

Date- 30th Sep – 1st October,

Students of Sacred Heart School, Siliguri, visited the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) ISTRAC campus in Bengaluru as part of an enriching educational experience focused on space science, technology and future opportunities.

During their visit, the students had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Shankar Madaswamy, who introduced them to the origins of ISRO and spoke about the vision and determination of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, one of the pioneers of India’s space programme.

The students also visited the Mission Control Room, where they gained insights into satellites, antennas, tracking systems and ISRO’s future initiatives. The interaction also introduced them to career opportunities at ISRO, entrance examinations, job awareness programmes and the Young Scientists Programme.

The educational journey continued at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, where students explored interactive exhibits on science, technology, biotechnology, space technology and machinery. An engaging presentation on the Solar System further added to their learning experience.

Beyond the academic experiences, the journey was filled with memorable moments. An airport tour was an exciting highlight for the students, along with a visit to the Smoor Chocolate Factory, adding a lighter and enjoyable dimension to the trip.

From the excitement of take-off to stepping into the world of space science, the journey offered students an opportunity to learn, explore and discover beyond the classroom.

Special thanks to the organisers, Mr Piyush Kejriwal and Mr Dipesh Agarwal, and to our very own Barik Sir for accompanying and mentoring the students throughout the journey.
