An Original Film-Making Club Project from Sacred Heart School, Siliguri
In a world filled with endless distractions and rising academic pressure, a student’s inner struggles often go unnoticed. Lost in the Dark, an original short film written and performed by the students of Sacred Heart School, Siliguri, brings this silent reality to light through a poignant and deeply human story.
Lost in the Dark was written by the members of the school’s newly formed Film-Making Club as part of the OFP (Our First Project) initiative. As the club’s debut production, the film stands as a compelling testament to the power of student-driven storytelling in fostering emotional awareness, empathy, and healing through creative expression.
The Storyline
Lost in the Dark follows the emotional journey of a young girl who, though seemingly fine on the outside, is silently struggling within. As her days pass in quiet despair surrounded by friends, yet feeling isolated, a turning point arrives when she connects with a compassionate school counsellor. What unfolds is not a dramatic rescue, but a tender awakening to hope. The film gently reminds us that the path to healing often begins with someone who simply listens.

Why It Matters
Mental health among school students is an often-overlooked aspect of holistic development. With rising awareness and an increasing need for school-led interventions, Sacred Heart School remains committed to fostering emotional well-being alongside academic growth. This student-led film is not just a creative milestone. It is a reflection of a school culture that values empathy, safe spaces, and emotional support systems.
A Platform for Student Voice
The OFP initiative empowers students to tell their own stories through film, giving them a voice and a space to express what matters to them. With guidance and encouragement from faculty, these young filmmakers are developing skills that go beyond the classroom—storytelling, collaboration, direction, and above all, empathy.
