The 2026 Yi Youth Parliament, held on 25th and 26th July, was an experience that gave us much more than just two days of debates and discussions. It gave us a space to express our ideas, listen to different perspectives and discover the confidence to make our voices heard.
Over the two days, we took part in discussions, debates and presentations that encouraged us to think beyond what we already knew. We were given the opportunity to question, share our opinions and look at different issues from multiple perspectives. Each discussion brought something new to the table and made the experience both engaging and meaningful.
One of the most valuable parts of the Youth Parliament was learning from our seniors. There were moments when we felt confused or unsure about what to do next, but their encouragement kept us moving forward. They reminded us that it is perfectly fine not to have all the answers at once. What matters is having the courage to keep trying, learn from our mistakes and take the next step.
The atmosphere of the Youth Parliament made the experience even more enjoyable. Meeting students, exchanging ideas and being part of discussions with people who looked at things differently helped us become more open-minded. We realised that effective communication is not just about speaking confidently. It is equally about listening carefully, respecting different opinions and being willing to learn from others.
For many of us, the experience also became an important lesson in personal growth. As Nasif shared, “I hope we all get a chance to go there again sometime, because it was a very fun and important event for our personal development.” Akhyar, Pragyan and Mukul shared similar thoughts, expressing their interest in being part of such experiences again in the future.
Looking back, the Yi Youth Parliament 2026 was much more than an event we attended. It challenged us to think, communicate and participate with greater confidence. It helped us understand that finding our voice is not simply about speaking up. It is about having something meaningful to say, being open to different perspectives and having the confidence to stand by our ideas.
We are grateful to Sanjeevani Ma’am, our main guide and the coordinating link between the faculty and us, for her constant support throughout the programme. We also sincerely appreciate Achintya Sir for his drive for success and the motivation he gave us at every step. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Hylton Sir, Saahil Sir and Nivedita Ma’am for their guidance and support, and to Parikshit Sir for his encouragement throughout the event.
The Youth Parliament has left us with more than memories. It has given us lessons in confidence, communication, teamwork and the importance of listening to others. Most importantly, it has encouraged us to keep asking questions, keep learning and never hesitate to take a step forward.
We hope to return to the Youth Parliament again, with new ideas, greater confidence and an even stronger willingness to learn.
