Date: 22nd and 23rd September 2026,
Our volleyball players have had a season to be proud of. All three teams, U-14, U-17 and U-19, won their respective zonal competitions before progressing through the regional level. Ten of our students were subsequently selected to represent their respective teams at the CISCE National Volleyball Championship, held from 14th to 24th September 2026 at St. Jude’s Public School & Junior College, Kotagiri, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu.
U-19: CISCE National Champions
Ansh Kumar and Arzu Roy represented the North Bengal and North-East U-19 team at the CISCE National Volleyball Championship. The team went on to win the championship, defeating the host team, Tamil Nadu, in the final.
Being part of a national championship-winning team is a significant achievement for both players and a proud moment for our school. Their journey from the zonal and regional competitions to the national final reflects the dedication, discipline and teamwork that the sport demands.
We are delighted to see our students represent their region at the highest level of CISCE school volleyball and return as national champions.
U-14: Seven Players on the National Stage
Our U-14 team also progressed through the zonal and regional competitions to earn its place at the national championship. Seven of our students represented their team:
- Aditya Ranjan
- Lucky
- Pratham Kumar
- Abdul Wahid
- Rishabh Raj
- Shivanshu Pratap Singh
- Faizullah
Competing at the national level gave our young players the opportunity to take on teams from across the country, gain valuable match experience and continue developing their skills.
A special achievement came for Aditya Ranjan, who was selected for the CISCE National Team for the SGFI National School Games. This selection gives him another opportunity to represent CISCE at the national level and marks an important step forward in his volleyball journey.
U-17: Representing Sacred Heart
Nanda Gopal Saha represented our school in the U-17 category, completing Sacred Heart’s representation across all three age groups.
His participation added to the school’s presence at the championship and provided an opportunity to compete against players from different regions.
A Journey Built on Teamwork and Dedication
Behind every match is the time spent practising, learning and preparing as a team. Progressing from zonal victories to regional and national competitions takes commitment, discipline and the willingness to keep improving.
For our students, these competitions have been about more than the results. They have been opportunities to challenge themselves, learn from other players and experience what it means to represent their team on a national platform.
Special thanks to our volleyball coach, Mr. Subir Brahmacharya, for his constant guidance, encouragement and dedication towards the teams. His support has been an important part of our players’ journey throughout the competitions.
We congratulate Ansh Kumar and Arzu Roy on being part of the CISCE National Championship-winning U-19 team, Aditya Ranjan on his selection for the SGFI National School Games, and all our U-14 and U-17 players on their achievements and participation.
Their journey is a proud moment for our school and a reminder of what young people can achieve when they are given the opportunity, guidance and encouragement to pursue their ambitions.
At Sacred Heart, we remain committed to helping our students discover their strengths, take on new challenges and grow through every experience, on and off the field.
