THE INDIAN CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (ICSE)
FOR GRADES 9 AND 10 IS A COURSE OF STUDY OF THE COUNCIL FOR THE INDIAN SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS OR CISCE.
The ICSE curriculum, designed for Grades 9 and 10, is governed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and provides a comprehensive and balanced education. At Sacred Heart School, students follow a rigorous two-year program, selecting six subjects from three broad groups. Upon completion of Class 10, students appear for the ICSE examination in their chosen subjects. Our school offers students the option to pursue either the Science or Commerce stream, catering to their individual interests and future aspirations.

1. Who should choose commerce stream?
Any student who is sure that he/she will pursue humanities or commerce in Grade XI & XII.
Any student who is sure that he/she will not pursue science in Grade XI & XII.
2. Who should choose science stream?
Any student who plans to pursue Science in grade XI & XII
Any student who plans to pursue Engineering or Medicine after XII.
3. Is science better than commerce?
In colleges and school admissions, no discrimination is made if a student has studied Commerce in Grade IX & X. The possibility of scoring better marks exists in the commerce stream as the burden of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) is replaced with single subject- Commercial studies.
Mathematics is still retained as a core subject in the commerce stream which helps a student in Grade XI & XII.
